Springboard Design - Profile

Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh

The Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh moved into a new facility in the Greenfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The new facility houses all of the public programs for the Center including a changing exhibition gallery, classroom, library, and offices.

“Architect Paul Rosenblatt and his team from Springboard Design designed the center, which included a benchmarking process against other similar centers and engaging the stakeholders and community to help guide both the site selection and design process.”

The grand opening of the newly renovated Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh included the premiere of an original exhibition, “In Celebration of Life: Living Legacy Project”. Springboard Design was also responsible for the graphic design of the exhibition, as well as the design of the custom display system for future Holocaust Center exhibitions. The display system panels can be easily changed, while the displays themselves are mobile, allowing them to be reconfigured as spatial needs change: as linear displays for a gallery setting, as room partitions for the creation of two distinct zones, or spread throughout the room to facilitate more intimate discussions.
