SPRINGBOARD Adds Brett Yasko To Museum Architecture Team (M.A.T.)
Award-Winning Graphic Designer Brett Yasko Enhances Exhibition Design and Signage Capabilities
Pittsburgh, Pa. (August 17, 2010) – Springboard is pleased to announce that award-winning graphic designer Brett Yasko has joined Springboard’s ‘Museum Architecture Team’ (M.A.T.). The Museum Architecture Team is a strategic design consultancy focused on the programming, planning, and design of growing museums and exhibitions worldwide.
“Brett Yasko is one of the most gifted graphic designers we have ever had the privilege to work with,” said Paul Rosenblatt AIA, Co-Director of M.A.T. and Founding Principal of Springboard. “Brett’s experience with all aspects of graphics for museums and exhibitions helps to make the Museum Architecture Team a ‘one-stop shop’ for museum design and exhibition. Brett enhances our ability to include the graphic design of building signage, exhibition graphics, brochures and catalogues – all under one seamless umbrella .”
Mr. Yasko, who is best known for his work on numerous architecture books and exhibition catalogs, comes to this alliance with a wealth of relevant experience and expertise. He has designed exhibitions – and related catalogs and brochures – for a number of major art institutions including the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Pittsburgh Center for the arts, and Wood Street Galleries. His book designs have been published by Princeton Architectural Press, Soft Skull Press, and others. His work has been recognized in exhibitions such as AIGA 365 and 50 Books, 50 Covers, and written about in publications and websites including Communication Arts, Print, How, the New York Times, The Nation, Metropolis, Dwell and Design Observer as well as Pittsburgh’s Post-Gazette, Tribune-Review and City Paper. Books he has designed are part of the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of Art, the Denver Art Museum and the Rare Book and Manuscript Collection at Columbia University. He is also a member of the adjunct faculty at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Design.
