The Parthenon Project
The Parthenon Project is a traveling installation created in collaboration with photographer Judith Turner. The project focuses on the ambiguous perception of architecture in photographs, and photographs as architecture. Wood studs, white fiberglass sheets, fluorescent lights and television monitors are the key materials that form this 8 ft. by 18ft. long ‘temple’ that is based on the Parthenon’s proportions. The project demonstrates how images can become integral parts of architectural spaces, and how illusory images of buildings transform our perceptions of physical reality.
