“Building Living Studios and a New Maker Network” @ the Pgh Maker Faire

This weekend, Springboard Design’s Paul Rosenblatt will be presenting “Building Living Studios and a New Maker Network” as part of the over 200 exhibits, performances, and presentations showcased at the 2015 Pittsburgh Maker Faire.

The focus of the presentations, held from 2:00-2:20 Saturday or 3:30-3:50 Sunday, will be the development of Creator Square Johnstown, an artisan residency community based in Johnstown, PA. Springboard Design is responsible for having established the center and designing its renovations. Creator Square Johnstown is a key component of the city’s growing artisan population- stimulating urban revitalization, economic development, and job-skills training by engaging community members with new economy makers.

Maker Faire is a community-based learning event that inspires everyone to become a maker! The Faire features technology, art, craft, electronics, engineering, and other projects created by makers themselves, including student projects, robotics, 3D printers and CNC mills, textile arts and crafts, home energy monitoring, rockets and R/C toys, sustainability, green tech, radios, vintage computers and game systems, electronics, electric vehicles, biology/biotech and chemistry projects, puppets, kites, bicycles, unusual tools or machines and more.
