Le Corbusier was wrong. Houses are not machines for living, they are museums. In fact, to architect Paul Rosenblatt AIA, Founding Principal of Springboard Design and author of , EVERY BUILDING A MUSEUM all buildings are hybrids and all benefit from being viewed as museums.
Paul Rosenblatt has written a provocative new book, EVERY BUILDING A MUSEUM, that shares the highlights of ten years of building Springboard Design. More than a typical architectural monograph, EVERY BUILDING A MUSEUM takes the reader behind the scenes into the practice’s studio, revealing design secrets behind ten of the firm’s most distinctive projects. Designed by book designer Brett Yasko and featuring essays by Heinz Architectural Center Curator Raymund Ryan and architectural critic Dr. Charles Rosenblum, EVERY BUILDING A MUSEUM celebrates the first ten years of an emerging national architectural practice.
Raymund Ryan, author of Cool Construction (Thames & Hudson, 2001), declares, “Paul Rosenblatt and his team at Springboard approach projects not as problems to be solved with the least hassle but as opportunities for the investigation of form and color, material and light, information and pleasure.”
