SPRINGBOARD Participating in Green Museum Conference Online

Springboard’s Founding Principal Paul Rosenblatt AIA is joining “experts, colleagues and practitioners for this online conference – http://greenmuseumconference.com- focused on goals, strategies and tools needed to examine, evaluate and implement greener and more sustainable strategies. The conference focuses on three areas:

  • Programs and Exhibitions: Explore emerging green exhibit design standards, and education and advocacy in programs and exhibits indoors and outdoors at your site
  • Practices and Policies: Examine green cleaning practices and expectations, museum lighting, and using sustainability standards and policies to support green decision-making
  • Buildings: Learn how your building can support your green mission by reducing energy and water consumption, and capitalizing on regular maintenance and repair schedules.”

SPRINGBOARD’s Creative Director Petra Fallaux Awarded F.I.N.E. Artist Residency

Play with color, shape and pattern with Springboard’s Creative Director Petra Fallaux who was Awarded F.I.N.E. Artist Residency by the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. In addition to conducting workshops throughout may, 2011, Ms. Fallux will also be giving a free public lecture at the museum – don’t miss it!

Petra’s vividly modern, abstract quilts are inspired by the landscape of the Netherlands, where she grew up. During the month of May, 2011, you can piece your own miniature fabric pattern with the artist on the following dates:

Sat., Apr. 30, 1:00-4:00

Sun., May 8, Noon-3:00

Sat. May 21, 1:00-4:00

FREE PUBLIC LECTURE: Don’t miss Ms. Fallaux’s free artist talk, exploring pattern, abstraction, improvisation and the unexpected in the art of quilting, on Sun., May 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh’s Theater. Learn more at www.petrafallaux.com.
The F.I.N.E. Artist Residency Series is supported by the Fine Foundation.

Programs are free with Museum admission: $10 for children ages 2-18 & seniors, and $11 for adults. The artist talk is free to the public. SPRINGBOARD Principal Paul Rosenblatt Discusses New Media Revolution

Don’t miss Springboard Principal Paul Rosenblatt’s discussion of ‘The New Media Revolution’ at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on Thursday, April 7, at 1:45PM as part of the 2011 (Re)Build Pittsburgh Conference.
